GoPro Unveils the Hero 12 Black with Improved Battery Life & AirPods Support

GoPro’s latest model promises to double the battery life and deliver a more user-friendly operation experience overall.

The Hero 12 Black has extended the battery life to “up to two times” what previous Hero models offered. While there’s no specific hour rating, the fact that it lasts longer means you get more shots of your action—and thanks to all the upgrades, better-quality shots, too.

New-and-improved features of the Hero 12 Black include:

• 8:7 full sensor recording mode
• HDR mode tuned to improve performance when shooting in mixed lighting conditions
• GP-Log logarithmic shooting mode
• Timecode Sync that makes it easy to synchronize edits
• Compatibility with AirPods and other Bluetooth headphones while recording
• Voice-activation via Bluetooth headphones/AirPods
• Vertical capture for vertical filming even if the camera is horizontal (such as when mounted)
• 4K/30FPS video
• An integrated tripod mount in the base so you no longer need adapters to mount the camera
