WYZE Battery Cam Pro Keeps Monitoring When the Power Goes Out

Wyze is stepping up its game and offering the Battery Cam Pro, a fully battery-powered wireless security camera.

As the successor to the older Wyze Cam Outdoor V2, it’s packed with new features, including:

• 2K HDR video
• Radar-powered motion detection
• An 80db siren
• A 150-lumen spotlight
• Two-way talk
• 134-degree field of view
• Dual-band Wi-Fi

Though it doesn’t link to a hub, it does capture all the video onto a microSD card for easy access.

Battery life isn’t ideal—less than 24 hours when constantly surveilling your home—but it can be wired for continuous monitoring with the battery as a backup in case the power fails. This, we think, is its true purpose… continuous monitoring during power events.

It’s compatible with all your favorite smart home devices (including Alexa, IFTTT, and Google Assistant) and setup is made easy via Bluetooth (no need to scan QR codes).

And to ensure it can handle outdoor use, it’s built with an IP65 rating that’ll keep it operating smoothly even in heavy rain.
