Skateboard Explores the Golden Eras of Skateboarding through over 100 Boards

Skateboard-lovers, get ready for an epic new multimedia project just for you. Curated by publishing house Phaidon, American industrial designer Jonathan Olivares, and Converse, this exhibition (appropriately titled “Skateboard”) set up in London’s Design Museum will take you on a journey through the evolution of skateboards from their original creation in the 1950s, through their heyday, and all the way until the modern skateboards being designed and released today.

More than 100 decks will be on show in some form—live exhibits, multimedia displays, etc.—and through the exhibition and the accompanying book, you’ll get a first-hand look at the most notable skateboards throughout history. It’s guaranteed to be a fascinating glimpse into one of the most popular extreme sports in the world.

If you can’t travel to London, the coffee table book will be a nice compromise.  And cost a lot less.
