Fender Audio’s RIFF Combines a Portable Bluetooth Speaker with a Practice Amp

Fender’s amps are considered among the best in the world, and now they’re making a play to get into the portable speaker game. Meet the RIFF, a 60-watt, Class-D speaker that also doubles as a portable, battery-powered guitar amp.

Thanks to its lithium-ion battery, you get 26 hours of run time, and it’s easily charged via USB-C cable. The amp features both AUX (1/8”) and guitar cable inputs so you can connect your electric guitar as well as your smartphone to play whatever music you want.

With two bass radiators and four speakers, it’s surprisingly loud and delivers a balanced, crisp sound. You’ve even got control over the sound output—it’s got sliders for treble, bass, and volume, and the RIFF partner app lets you adjust the EQ and control the playback of music while you jam along on the guitar.

Best of all, if you want to go full-out, you can pair two speakers together for richer, fuller stereo sound, or you can pair up to 100 speakers for a true party.
