Garmin Adds AMOLED Displays to its Latest 965 & 265 Forerunner Training Watches

Garmin is taking the screen quality of their smartwatches to a whole new level with their new AMOLED displays.

AMOLEDs produce significantly more vivid colors, better picture quality, and a faster motion response, all while consuming a lot less power. What that means is these new smartwatches won’t just look better; they’ll also last longer between charges.

The first of the models announced is the 265 series, which comes in both 42 and 46mm sizes, with battery life between 20 to 24 hours in GPS mode, and 13 to 15 days in smartwatch mode.

Features of the 265 include sleep/stress tracking, energy monitoring, pulse oximeter sensors, pregnancy tracking, VO2 max, and menstrual cycle monitoring. Also included is access to daily recommended workouts and access to video training sessions available via the Garmin platform.

The second model is the 965 series, which features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display and has a battery life of up to 31 hours in GPS mode and 23 days in smartwatch mode (see, longer battery life!).

In addition to all the features in the 265, it tracks more performance metrics (including real-time stamina info, load ratio, exertion levels, and climbing details) and offers both on-board storage for your running soundtrack and built-in mapping software to track your runs more accurately.

Definitely a great choice for runners who want the highest-tech smartwatches available.
