Finalmouse Centerpiece Keyboard has an Actual Screen that Plays Video Beneath the Keys

Typing has never been so entertaining—and I do mean that literally. The Finalmouse Centerpiece takes keyboard light displays to a whole new level, eschewing the standard (read: boring) RGB LED lights in favor of a Laminated DisplayCircuit Glass Stack, which translated means: a screen integrated into the aluminum case beneath the keys.

Though there are no details (yet) on specs like refresh rate, resolution, size, or brightness, what’s clear is that the “skins” (powered by Unreal Engine 5) that will be displayed on the screen will give your typing a brand new visual dimension. The keyboard will seem to come to life beneath your fingers, with stunning animations playing while you type.

Add to that mechanical switches based off the Black Ink switches by Gateron (60g of force actuation, and 4 mm of linear travel), and you’ve got a keyboard that will be gadget envy of every one of your gamer friends—and enemies.

Slated to drop in early 2023. Finalmouse doesn’t keep an updated website available (it’s password protected), so the easiest method of keeping track of releases is to follow them on Twitter.
