No longer will the Hummer brand (for non-military purposes) be only associated with over-sized, gas guzzling trucks; now, you can buy yourself a Hummer e-bike and enjoy an electric-powered ride.
Built in partnership with Indiana-based bike-maker Recon, the Hummer EV all-wheel drive e-bike packs two Bafang 750W motors (capable of generating 2,400W of peak power) and a 17Ah, 48V battery built by LG.
Capable of producing up to 160Nm of torque, the twin motors push the bike up to speeds of 28 MPH. But don’t worry: the bike also comes equipped with four-piston hydraulic brakes to help you stop, adjustable Shimano front suspension, and three “drive modes” that let you adapt the power output according to your terrain (hills, off-road, and streets). It’s a bold entry into the e-bike market for sure.
The Hummer EV e-bike begins deliveries to customers in early December.
