Trek’s Madone SLR aero bike has just gotten an impressive new upgrade. Not only is it 300 grams lighter, but it can manage speeds “60 seconds per hour” faster than its original model. This may not sound like a lot, but for long-distance racers, it can be the difference between taking the gold and not even placing on the podium.
The improved performance is largely due to its unique, redesigned tubes (with a never-before-seen juncture between seat and top tube), as well as its brand new handlebars designed to promote a more aerodynamic riding position. Though it’s still only available for pre-order, when it finally drops (in 2023), it promises to drastically improve performance and race time.
