Lightyear 0 is the First Production Car to Run on Solar Power

A Dutch based start-up has just showcased the first production car to run on solar power. Deliveries start this year and prices hover at around $263,000. The car features huge curved solar panels and that means you would be able to drive for months without needing to charge it yourself. In-fact around 43 miles would be added daily via the sun depending on the weather conditions.

The company claims to have driven more than 400 miles on a single charge 60 kilowatt-hour battery. Performance isn’t bad as well with 0-60mph taking 10 seconds and a top-speed of 100mph.
