In the past, Wyze has touted its “smart” home security devices—everything from cameras to Wi-Fi locks to automated systems. Now, however, it’s going the route of purely “safe” by offering the Lock Bolt, a deadbolt that eschews Wi-Fi connectivity in favor of direct Bluetooth connection.
The Bluetooth range is only 16 feet, so it’s only unlockable if your phone is in close range. When you’re not home, your fellow house-mates will still have access via a keypad and a built-in fingerprint reader. By removing Wi-Fi, Wyze eliminates the vulnerability that has caused so much concern over home safety, and gives you a truly effective, secure deadbolt that will keep your premises secured against intrusion. Best of all, it’s more affordable than most standard keypad deadbolt systems.
