VanMoof Takes E-bike Excellence to the Next Level

VanMoof has just given both its S and A models an upgrade and kicked its e-bike tech up a notch or three. First off, the addition of a more powerful motor raises the torque by more than 10% (from 59 to 68 Nm), and includes a 26-cell, 47V permanent battery that increases the bikes’ range to 140 KM for the A5 and 150 KM for the S5. The Gen 5 charger also cuts charging time significantly; you can top up to 50% battery in just 2 ½ hours, or full capacity in 6 ½ hours. Or, if you’re really in a hurry, the speed charger lets you reach 50% in 60 minutes and full capacity in just 4 ½ hours.

The LED display halo ring interface adds a level of security that’s armed in a second (just tap your foot), and enables GPS tracking (currently through Bike Hunters, but soon through Apple Find My technology) in case of theft.
