After years in development and millions in capital investment, Magic Leap has finally taken the wraps off its “game-changing” AR goggles. They’ve got similar features to the Microsoft HoloLens and ARKit on iOS but with their exclusive “digital lightfield” photonics, the product is a standout. The lightfield they claim, “generates digital light at different depths and blends seamlessly with natural light to produce life-like digital objects that coexist in the real world.” There’s not a lot of tech detail available yet but we know that ML1 will be available to developers in 2018.
