Mercedes is adding yet another level of exclusive factory upgrades with the roll out of its S-Class “Night Edition’ variants. The package includes a unique single-louvre front grill, 20-inch AMG wheels, AMG steering wheel, upgraded Nappa leather interiors, including optional Bengal Red/black, high gloss black poplar interior trims, & more. Choose from the S 400 4MATIC Coupé, the S 500 Coupé, or the S 500 4MATIC Coupé.
Ferrari’s Targa body returns in a very limited series of bespoke cars celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ferrari in Japan. The J50 is a two-seat, mid-rear-engine roadster created by Ferrari’s Special Projects department. It’s powered by a 690 cv version of the 3.9-litre V8 that won the overall International Engine of the Year Award this year. Only 10 of these incredible cars will be made.
Powered by two high-power, electric motors and constructed for both over and under water activity, the luxurious 2 & 3-seater subs from Ortega Submersibles redefine underwater travel by using highly advanced naval technology. They are equipped with a trimming tank, on-board breathing apparatus and HUD navigation system, plus optional Magnetometers, Sonar, FLIR, & an extra air supply. The travel range is between 70 & 92 miles at underwater speeds of 11 knots. They can dive to depths of 310 feet.
Based around the sleek & futuristic design of their Alfieri Concept Car, Maserati plans to unveil its first electric vehicle … but not until 2020. Aside from images highlighting the stunning lines of this luxury 2-door sports car, few other details are currently known about the yet-to-be-developed powerplant for this first-ever electric Maserati.
Audi has just unveiled the latest variant of their iconic R8. The limited-Edition 2017 R8 V10 Plus Exclusive features, for (almost) the first time in the U.S., headlights that combine LED & laser-light technology. It also features a Quantum Gray exterior, a Titanium Black Optic package, 20-inch gloss anthracite wheels, and a Solar Orange stripe along its carbon-fiber side panel. The interior features black & Signal orange leather.
Due to be officially unveiled next month at the Paris Motor Show, Ferrari’s latest offering is the GTC4Lusso T, a 2-door 4-seater hatchback powered by a V8 motor. The 4-seater + V8 configuration is a first for Ferrari and the 3.9-liter turbo-charged powerplant delivers just over 600 horses to the rear wheels. Combined with its lightweight build and 4-wheel steering, this should be a really fun ride.
Apparently, this is real. Letvision is a Turkish R&D startup in the business of making real Transformers. As in, Optimus Prime. They take 3-series BMWs and build full-size, fully animatronic bots that quickly transform from car to character with a wireless remote control. They have moving arms and hands, dynamic eyes, and the ability to speak.
The luxury sports car maker Fisker has re-emerged after a few tumultuous years of reorganization. Now Chinese-owned & re-branded as Karma, the company is releasing their flagship Revero in 2017. It’s an updated version of the original Fisker Karma that features a refresh on the grill & is powered by a 260-horse turbocharged GM-built 4. Inside the dash an infotainment system has been totally re-designed & includes integrated CarPlay.
Designed as a track car you can buy off the showroom floor, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R sits at the top of the food chain for Benz performance. Powered by a handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine that puts out 577hp with a top speed of 198 MPH, it features an all-new 9-mode in-dash traction control system and 4-wheel steering. The exclusive new color is called AMG Green Hell Magno.
To honor the 100th anniversary of Ferrucio Lamborghini’s birth, the Italian carmaker created the Centenario Roadster, a roofless variant of the V12 Coupé with a carbon-fiber monobody profile, 4-wheel steering, and a top speed of more than 217 MPH. Sadly I couldn’t post this fast enough. It’s already sold out.
